Step One – Submit Your Online Application

Before starting the application, please create a Parent Login account and prepare the required documents listed.

  • All documents (except the digital photo) should be uploaded in PDF format
  • Each file should be no larger than 800KB
  • Documents may be submitted in English or Chinese, except for school reports and educational reports, which must be in English or accompanied by a certified translation
Step Two – Pay the Application Fee

The application fee is HK$1,800 which is non-refundable.

  • Payment by crossed cheque, payable to “Malvern College Hong Kong Limited”
  • Please write the applicant’s full name, date of birth, and your contact number on the back of the cheque
  • Overseas applicants may arrange payment by wire transfer
  • The application fee covers administrative costs and must be cleared for the application to be considered complete
Step Three – Complete the Online Application
  • Please submit one application per applicant
  • Complete the form in English, using proper capitalisation (avoid ALL CAPS)
  • Ensure that all names match the applicant’s passport or HKID, as these will be used for official school records
  • Incomplete or inaccurate applications may result in delays or rejection
  • Upon submission, you will receive an automated email acknowledgement

Step Four – Assessment & Interview

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year. As part of the admissions process, all applicants are required to take part in an age-appropriate assessment and/or interview, designed to help us understand how each child may engage with an English-medium curriculum at Malvern College Hong Kong.

Our assessments are not examinations. They are designed to gain a holistic understanding of each pupil’s learning skills, cognitive development, language ability, and potential to thrive within the school environment.

Assessment Format

Assessments are tailored to the child’s age and stage of development and may include:

  • Age-appropriate tasks or online assessments
  • An interview conducted in English
  • Review of previous school reports (where applicable)

These elements help us assess each pupil’s readiness for the curriculum and their ability to learn and participate confidently in an English-medium setting.

Step Five – Receive the Outcome

Following the assessment, parents will be informed of the outcome.

  • If the assessment is successful and a place is available, the School will issue a formal offer, together with enrolment details.
  • If no places are available for the requested entry year, the applicant may be placed on a waiting list, and families will be notified should a place become available.

Do you have an application deadline or specific application period?

Malvern College Hong Kong operates a rolling admissions process. Applications are accepted throughout the school year and may be submitted up to two years in advance, subject to availability.

Are all applicants required to attend an assessment?

Yes. All applicants are invited to take part in an assessment and/or observation session, appropriate to their age and stage of development.

Do you accept children with limited English language experience?

All applicants must be able to engage with an English-medium curriculum.

Children with limited English proficiency may still be considered if they demonstrate strong academic potential through school reports and if appropriate English language support is available at home.

What are your admissions priority criteria?

Malvern College Hong Kong values a diverse, inclusive, and multicultural school community. As part of the admissions process, a meeting with both parents and the child is required to ensure alignment between the School’s values and those of the family.

Priority for assessment may be given to applicants in the following categories:

  • Corporate Nomination Right (CNR) nominees
  • Individual Nomination Right (INR) nominees
  • Siblings of current pupils
  • Pupils from Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong (with a minimum of one academic year of attendance)
  • Children of Old Malvernians (alumni)
  • Pupils transferring from another school in the Malvern College Family of Schools (with a minimum of two academic years of attendance prior to admission)
  • Applicants who contribute to the School’s diversity in nationality, background, age, and gender
  • Pupils who demonstrate a genuine interest in learning and an aptitude for independent study
