Connecting Theory and Practice Through Scientific Exploration in the MYP
Integrated Science in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) at Malvern College Hong Kong provides students aged 11 to 16 with a comprehensive understanding of scientific concepts through an interdisciplinary approach. This subject combines elements of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and students will also be exposed to Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Sport Sciences, Health Sciences, and/or Earth Sciences, enabling students to explore and understand the world around them in a holistic manner.
The MYP Integrated Science curriculum employs inquiry-based learning and hands-on experimentation to stimulate students' curiosity and promote critical thinking. Key elements of the teaching approach include:
