PYP Curriculum - Malvern College Hong Kong

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is an innovative educational framework designed for children aged 5 to 11. The PYP curriculum is founded on the principle of inquiry-based learning, fostering an environment where pupils are encouraged to ask questions, investigate topics in depth, and engage in hands-on experiences. This approach nurtures curiosity and critical thinking, empowering pupils to take ownership of their learning journey.

Prep pupils will study a diverse range of timetabled subjects, including their Unit of Inquiry (UOI), Readers’ & Writers’ Workshop (English), Mathematics, Chinese, The Arts, Music and Physical Education. Additionally, Prep pupils will enjoy a dedicated library session, a Learning for Life lesson, and an assembly each week.

For Prep 1-3 pupils, Loose Parts Play and Phonics are scheduled each week, while participation in Forest-Beach School occurs every three weeks.
